Ralley-Toko in Porvoo- ALO class

Our second race and again 86 points, so our second mark and at the 3rd mark, which we will get if we have more than 70 points, we can get up to AVO class.

results: Porvoo 19.3.

Juni has been diagnosed for subfunction of thyroid gland (kilpirauhasen vaajatoiminta/ Schilddruesen Unterfunktion) She has to take now medicine for the rest of her life. At the moment the shows are on hold because of her overweight and poor fur caused by the illness.

We started actively with Rally Toko and had our first race in Porvoo.

86 points was enough to get our first mark in the race-book.

"very strong, rather long on proportons, I prefer to see her a bit more elegant, rather heavy head, too much lips, light eyes, scissors bite, enough neck, soft back, bit long loin

brestbone could be a bit longer, enough drive by side, rather too wide in front movement, should be shown in better physical condition."

Karkku- special show for Springers

We do not have much luck at the moment.

Last time Juni was tired from fake pregnancy/birth giving (?)

this time it seems she had a "water-tale" (vesihäntä) which means

a tail just hanging down and showing no emotions. This comes from an infection

caused for example from coldness etc.

Hence the statement this time:

" nice head, carrying too much weight today, nicely made through out, moved ok,

just need more confidence " -> EH

Nothing about a tail too high or so.

And normally Juni has really no lack of confidence.

Her statement of Juni:

"For her age she is a little on the big side. A little strong in skull,

eyes are little round. Good neck and shoulders, though upper arm.

Dips behind withers, making her topline loose on the move and stand.

Well bodies, a little unbalanced on outline. Lacking a bend of stifle. Little down

on pasterns. She lacks drive and is very close on rear feet. Excellent coat

presentation. "

At this day Juni was not quite herself, tired and not much willing to move.

Her fake-pregnancy was maybe on highest point (giving birth?) and she rather

wanted to be home.

Kiva- Koira-kansalainen (good dog-citizen) test and Match Show in Masala

Once again a sunny day in Finland, or lets say the FIRST warm

day here :-)

We went first to make the test which includes:

1) accept a foreign person: dog has to sit and wait so that I can shake

foreigners hand.

2) sits nicely to be petted: dog let himself be touched

3) dogs lets another person touch and examn him

4) walking without pulling

5) walking through a bunch of people

6) Sitting, down and waiting

7) coming on order

8) facing another dog : dog is allowed to show interest but shall not go near or

jump on it ( our stumbling-block and only reason why we failed)

9) reaction on distraction ( throwing a telefonbook on the ground)

10) waiting for the owner with the tester. Owner is 3 minutes away.

I have been told, that Juni was first laying down, than wondering where

I am, then walking to the direction I went to but finally went back

and wait very close to the tester :-) It was funny to see her like this

So end of the story: we have to make Juni "numb" against other dogs,

which might be, or actually is, a big challenge.

Any tips are welcome !!!

Then the Match-show.

Well, we maid it to the last 4 to be chosen for the first place

of blue puppies. (No 2-4 was already clear) but some other dog got it.

I still do not why, since Juni was absolute fabolous (tired? :-) ) and

stood nicely and also long time, walked great etc.

Maybe I should not have told the judge, that Juni is not ready (because

of her back) after the judge said, that she is at the breast very well

developed for her age .. My big mouth. I cannot explain it otherwise.

Lahti International Show/ Judge Sara Nordin/ SE

15 male/ 23 female english springer spaniels

Junior class- 6 bitches ( Juni 10,5 months)

On a sunny day we went early in the morning to Lahti .

Here the result ( translated from swedish to finish by local

translation service):

"Feminiininen narttu, mutta silmäluomien reunojen pitäisi olla

tiiviimmät. Hyvä kaula, etuosa ja eturinta. Hyvä rintakehä.

Riittävät takakulmaukset. Heikko ylälinja, joka laskee seistessä.

Liikkuu iloisesti hyvällä askelpituudella, mutta häntä aivan

liian korkealla. Erinomainen karva. Erittäin miellyttävä luonne."

Result: Hyvä-good (but) no further possibilities to continue in the show.

Personal result: it was maybe too early to go with her since Juni

still needs some time to develop. Well, for the eyes and tail part

we cannot do much, that is simply Juni :-) and she is great like

she is.

Let's see in one month how she develops for Helsinki KV.

Match-show in Helsinki/ Viikki

chilly but sunny weather brought us one more step to a

more calm and experienced Juni on shows. Nothing more we

achieved :-) but it means a lot.

due to an eye infection and treatment with Antibiotika, Juni cannot attend

to Tampere Intern. Show on 21.3 and Ruovesi Group show 5.4.
